This website discusses available radiation treatment options for cancer. There are other methods of treating cancer such as surgery and chemotherapy. This website is designed to provide information about radiation oncology; therefore it does not discuss other cancer treatment options.

The radiation treatment options page also discusses the use of theTrilogy™System as this is the system that is available at Texas Oncology - Amarillo. In addition it is the system that John T. Gwozdz, MD has been trained to use. The treatment option page explains, in general terms, that this technology combines the capability of other well known, but older treatment machines, such as Tomotherapy, Cyberknife and Novalis. This same page provides outside links which will take you to the vendor's website (Varian Medical Systems - the world's leading manufacturer of medical devices and software for treating cancer and other medical conditions with radiotherapy, radiosurgery, proton therapy, and brachytherapy.) where they have an extensive list of research that was done prior to developing this treatment machine. In addition, other respected cancer centers, which include members of the National Comprehensive Cancer Centers also utilize this equipment, such as MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
